What do I have in common with Marco Rubio?

Senator Marco Rubio of Florida and 2016, Presidential Candidate and I have something in common.  According to the New York Times Rubio and his wife enjoy driving really fast.  I like to drive really fast as well in my Nissan Rogue.  This past winter as I was going to water aerobics I was the unfortunate receiver of a speeding ticket.  I did not realize that along Smith Valley Road the speed limit was 35mph.  This was after I realized on Main St taking my daughter home that the speed limit was 40mph.  Now I get really busy with speaking to my daughter or singing the wonderful tunes of Frozen or other musicals that can help with the distraction.  I cannot remember how much money I have spent on paying tickets or defensive driving classes.  It may be close to the $1000, price that Rubio and his wife has paid.  According to the New York Times the offenses of the Rubio couple goes back to 1997.

According to a search of the Miami-Dade and Duval County court dockets, the Rubios have been cited for numerous infractions over the years for incidents that included speeding, driving through red lights and careless driving. A review of records dating back to 1997 shows that the couple had a combined 17 citations: Mr. Rubio with four and his wife with 13. On four separate occasions they agreed to attend remedial driving school after a violation.

Mr. Rubio’s troubles behind the wheel predate his days in politics. In 1997, when he was cited for careless driving by a Florida Highway Patrol officer, he was fined and took voluntary driving classes. A dozen years later, in 2009, he was ticketed for speeding on a highway in Duval County and found himself back in driver improvement school.

Things got more complicated in 2011 when Mr. Rubio was alerted to the fact that his license was facing suspension after a traffic camera caught him failing to stop at a red light in his beige Buick. His lawyer, Alex Hanna, paid a $16 fee to delay the suspension and eventually it was dismissed.

How much of this is actually important to being President of the United States?  In my opinion it doesn’t mean a damn thing.  Why? “I did not have sex with that woman.” This was spoken by President Bill Clinton on the then alleged rumor of his affair with Monica Lewenski. “What difference does that make?”  Hillary Clinton made this wonderful statement in accordance with her role in the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi.  The Clintons were able to move pass the offenses. Bill was still able to be the most popular democratic president and his wife gets another chance to be the first woman President of the United States.  Marco Rubio and his wife may not get the same chance as the Clintons.  I mean my goodness gracious people it’s a traffic ticket not having sex in the oval office or telling a unit to stand down that was more than able to save four Americans in Benghazi.

ESPY

In Indiana God brought home a beautiful young woman named Lauren Hill.  She died of a rare brain cancer that she happily raised awareness knowing full well that she may never see the fruit that she bears.  Then comes along Bruce Jenner saying that he is now Caitlyn Jenner and because he is now a she he is going to receive an ESPN award for being brave.  What is she/he brave for?  Wow!  He had surgery.  Well sweetheart surgery is nothing new for this woman and probably wasn't new for Lauren Hill.  I have had four surgeries all before the age of 20 and on Tuesday it will be five.  I ask you to bring it Caitlyn Jenner because you are taking or should I say stealing an ESPY from a young woman who will not know the joy of being a mother and will not see the day that Cancer is eradicated.  She raised the bar.  Caitlyn Jenner its a bar you will never be able to reach.

Bruce is A Girl

Do you remember when Bruce Jenner won the Olympics?  Well I think that I do, but more importantly I have always known who Bruce Jenner is and the accomplishments of his life.  The last year we have noticed changes and last month the noticed changes were confirmed that Bruce Jenner wanted to be a girl.  This Olympian, that people who actually look at the world around them, looked up to as an example of the American dream changed that perception.  On Monday Bruce became Caitlyn the social media has been filled with this news.  My brain is trying to wrap my head around this piece of news on why I should care.  I kinda care, but I don't care.  Why don't I care?  I have three reasons why I at least kinda care.
1. She is a human being and God still loves her no matter her gender, although he did bring Bruce into the world.  Whatever!  God loves HER.
2. Congress is debating the future of our 4rth Amendment right.  Remember?  The one that basically says the government needs a warrant to come into your home.  Bruce is a girl, so its okay. NOT!!!
3. Why do you want to be a girl? Really?!  Why is this a thing?  You want to go through pain in order to change gender.  Sweetheart I go through pain once a month being a girl sometimes isn't all that great.  At least Caitlyn doesn't have to go through the once a month sunshine and happiness that I go through and please note the sarcasm.  God created male and female.  Girls Rock.  I have given life.  Its pretty cool.  BOOM!!!  I WIN!!!!

Duggar vs Dunham

There are a few instances within our mainstream media culture that can throw the populace for a loop.  In the last couple of weeks those who are fans of “19 Kids and Counting” have been rocked by the news that Josh Duggar at the age of 14, not only molested four of his sisters, but also a daughter of a family friend.  The image of the conservative Christian family who believe in not using birth control and strict courting rules.  In order for those to understand what this may look like let’s look at what this life style may look like with a couple of examples.  For example, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar believe that birth control is not part of God’s plan for their family.  Michelle became pregnant before having her eldest child, Josh Duggar, yet she and her husband experienced an unfortunate miscarriage believing that because she became pregnant while on birth control.  This is how they came to their belief through the movement called Quiverfull.

Another example of this family’s culture is their belief on courtship.  Those within other religions or Christian faiths may allow their son or daughters go out and date.  This may happen within a group of friends or the couple will go out on their own.  In the Duggar family the courtship process often takes place with the father’s permission and with chaperones.  For example, Josh and Anna started their courtship with the blessing of their parents and with a set of rules that were strictly followed.  One rule those on outside looking in was Josh and Anna decided to only share their first kiss after they are pronounced man and wife.  This particular culture of this family put the image to the rest of the world was a wholesome Christian family that brought values to the television screen.  This ended when the world learned of Josh Duggar molesting his sisters and the daughter of a family friend.  Instead of ignoring the situation both Anna and Josh Duggar along with his parents Michelle and JimBob Duggar recognized the sin and apologized.  Josh resigned from his position in Washington DC.  Along with the network pulling all future airings of the show and replacing the show with “The Little People”.  It is the reaction of the left that is confusing with comments on social media.  The comments from those who run on the left of the political spectrum are extremely supportive of Lena Dunham, but regarding the Duggar family are calling for their expulsion from TV.  This is the result in punishing the entire family who are feeling the consequences of Josh Duggar’s actions.

When Lena Dunham came out with her book detailing her willingness of how she molested her little sister the political spectrum was once again split down the middle.  The liberals see her as the poster woman for the feminist movement.  My favorite word from Chicks of the Right “hosebeast” is how she is described on the right.  Lena Dunham and Josh Duggar both made decisions that have possibly altered the lives of those involved.  Who are we to judge?  What is the difference between the two celebrities?  The first thing that comes to mind is Josh Duggar’s readiness to admit he was wrong and ask forgiveness not only from those he hurt, but from his fan base.  Although, his parents are answering the questions the world may want to ask in regards to the scandal on “The Kelly File” this week he has largely stayed out of sight.  He is ashamed of his actions.  In the case of Lena Dunham she detailed her actions in a book and was relatively proud and brushed it off as being a kid.  She was neither ashamed nor did she care or felt sorry for possible pain that she may have brought her sister.  The progressive left instantly wants an excuse to blame Christianity.  The fact is that both Dunham and Duggar were wrong.  It is Lena Dunham and Josh Duggar who should receive the backlash of their actions.  We have to discern from right and wrong and remember that God does forgive everyone.  Yes, we need to forgive as God has forgiven us, but we do not have to forget.
