Where are they?
In 2016, the people of this nation will be electing a man or woman for the highest office in the land. We elect The President of the United States. The process couldn't come soon enough for me. I have been voting since I helped to elect Clinton for his first term. My excitement has me a little flustered. I was hoping to learn of some declarations by now. We are in the last month of 2014, and 2015, is literally around the corner. Where are the men and women wanting to campaign to be President? I am at a lost because I finally have what I want to do in order to contribute as a citizen of this country. I want to participate in grassroots within the political arena. This is why I am going to school at 40 years of age. It's something that I have always wanted to do and I am just waiting. I couldn't be more excited as someone who wants to help and as a on looker to start debating amongst family and friends. Where are they?
There will be groups to join in order to bring together those of like mind to talk about and have a couple of drinks in honor of my favorite candidate. PLEASE Ted Cruz PLEASE RUN! Do I sound too pathetic? It may sound a little pathetic. Ted Cruz reminds me of Ronald Reagan. I will also volunteer and plan for the many debate parties that I hope to attend and host. Oh Debates! My favorite time of this process is the all-important election night itself. At the time of both the Democratic and Republican debates I always have debate cupcakes along with pizza and alcoholic drinks. This event has in the past was attended by my dad, kids and myself. This coming election season I hope to make it a real event. This will include special plates, food and debate among the attendees.
Who are my picks for this special time in this country? I will have other blogs to inform why I pick these particular persons. My three picks would be, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz or Allen West. I guess I would also mention Ben Carson. If I am truly desperate I will vote for Chris Christy, but I would have to be truly desperate. Then it doesn't matter because Chris Christy is better than Hillary Clinton. I am not in the mood to go to the voting booth with the attitude, "If this is my only choice." *sigh*
I want someone to vote for that bring inspiration again that this country is once again great. We as a people need to be excited again without the wool being pulled over our eyes. We have been there don that. We need to believe again.

Why did I change to a Conservative?
I have been watching these elections since I was very little. In fact to give you an idea of how long I have been paying attention I was five or six years old when Regan was shot. Yes, I was a political news hound at that age too. Yes, at this age I considered myself a Democrat. This would be shocking to my twelve year old son now. Why did I choose this? Well to be perfectly honest I wasn't big on research and just chose a party. In my mind it made sense to pick the party that my dad was not a "party" to. Do you get it? "Party?" It was funny in my head. Anyway, my dad was a Republican and I a Democrat. There wasn't arguing there was just me going to the voting booth with my dad trying to sway my dad to vote to the party that I wanted him to vote for. I watched the Mondale/Regan election and cried when Mondale didn't win. I did the same for Bush/Dukakias Bush/Clinton (I was elated about Clinton winning) and the Bush W/Gore election. Finally, Obama/McCain election was my highlight of Democratic Presidents. Why did I vote for Obama?
I personally thought that I would feel the pride that I felt for Obama as I felt for Clinton. It never happened. I was mainly concerned about how healthcare was going work. I watched in the early nineties as Clinton's stint in Universal Healthcare just didn't work. He didn't have support from the nation or Washington. He turned his attention to other national matters. This didn't stop Obama when it was his turn. He continued on with his plan of Universal Healthcare. This at first seemed to be a good idea, but the financial aspect concerned me. The main idea was that everyone had to sign up for ObamaCare. This was a slow start and the administration never got the numbers that they were looking for at the start. The signing up for health care didn't initially bother me. My attention leaned toward the IRS. It was noted that if you didn't sign up you were fined or in my eyes taxed. The word tax wasn't in the Obama Administration's vocabulary. Obama preferred fine because taxing Americans for something that they are already taxed for through their insurance companies isn't hip to announce. This was my final straw. The time between then and now served many changes in my life. I divorced my first husband and then was lucky enough to find love again. When I met Barry my political leanings were already starting to change. My window of acceptance was closing up. Because why should I pay more taxes and be considered a racist and bigot when I don't agree with Presidential policies. This enters into my final transformation to Conservatism. It was political correctness.
It was the political correctness that because I disagreed with the President that I was instantly racist. Oprah Winfrey said it herself that I was a racist because I do not accept the policies being forced upon me. If I am a woman I am supposed to be a feminist and be okay with the murder of children not yet able to live their lives. My belief in God is wrong because the atheist would be offended. There are so many reasons. My best reason to becoming a "tree hugging, God fearing, Gun toting, Tea Party sympathizer, Libertarian" was that I recognized through my husband, Dinesh D'Souza and attending my first NRA convention that Obama and the progressive left didn't love America. They wanted me to submit(the only person that gets that honor is God)conform and accept everything that they wanted me to believe. I chose not to conform. I love being a true feminist. This means that I chose to stay-at-home with my children and consider my husband to be a part of me. My husband is not holding me down because I am a woman and he is a man. It doesn't work like.
I am a woman. I am a woman who is very lucky, yet more blessed than lucky. I am blessed because I live in a country that doesn't give me what I think I need, but gives me the equal opportunity to live my life as I please. I am a Conservative because I don't want something handed to me. I want the equal opportunity to rise up and make a life for myself and my family.

Ebola
I have been watching the news and the one topic that has stuck in my head is EBOLA. What is Ebola? It's a virus that can infect humans and primates. It has been most commonly found in African countries. This has been true since 1976, when it first appeared in the African country of the Congo. It reared its ugly head in Liberia this year. It especially became personal for Americans when two healthcare workers from the Samaritan Purse ran by Franklin Graham contacted the virus. The symptoms for this wonderful disease are high fever, horrible headaches, bruising and bleeding, diarrhea, muscle pain, vomiting, weakness and stomach pain. This sounds like a whole lot of fun. I am not a germ freak, but it's now hear in American. Yes, there have only been 2 to 4 cases here in the states, but isn't that enough to raise some eyebrows. Apparently Not! http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/about.html
This virus that has affected real people in Africa and here in The United States has become political. Why has it become political? Is it because the policy for closing the borders are so relaxed? Is it because the person of Barack Obama the man that we as Americans call President doesn't really seem to grasp the situation at hand? The two question go hand in hand. In closing the borders would mean that all unnecessary flight to and from Liberia would need to stop. Then there is the Mexican/American border in case that the virus takes root in South American. We all know that this border is not secure. We have had drug cartel fire on our border agents and illegal aliens easily crossing the border into the country with icky diseases of their own. These men, women and children come into the country and that is the last that anyone of authority will hear from the families. Yes, I understand that it is a better life for those who know what true poverty is, but we as Americans need to take care of our own. Closing the border may help quarantine not only the virus, but make it harder for the Isis Terrorist group to stay out of the country.
I like what Andrew C. McCarthy says in his article about the incompetence of the Obama Administration.http://www.nationalreview.com/article/390616/incompetence-meets-mendacity-obama-administrations-ebola-response-andrew-c-mccarthy We as American expect that politicians will do their thing as politicians. These men and women will wheel and deal their way into creating policy or getting bills signed. When threats to Americans seem to be real that we do expect that the politics stop. There will be real answers to Ebola and Isis. I have no veil over my eyes that if Ted Cruz comes into the White House in 2016 (now you know my presidential pick) that he will be a politician. I really and truly get that fact. When the proverbial shit hits the fan then Americans need a President to come out fighting.

Education and Marketing of Food Choices to Children
Education
and Marketing of Food Choices to Children
In an article written by Marion Nestle in
June 2006, called “Food and Marketing and Childhood Obesity- A Matter of Policy
she highlights the marketing of favorite junk foods in connection with
childhood obesity. Children these days
consume more calories than in activity.
This brings an imbalance in everyday life. In order to answer the problem congress asked
the Center of Disease Control to find the cause. This concluded the creation of the Institute
of Medicine (IOM). One of the studies
was that companies were marketing junk food and sweets purposefully to
children. Children have increased their
intake of candy, junk food and soft drinks since 1980.
The advertising that children see
influences their choices. The company’s
marketing to children is not only seen as training children as a consumer, but
also freedom of speech. These
advertisers market more junk food than healthy products. Children are not only receiving these
messages through television but also from radio and the internet. The market that advertises to children tends
to convince children that it’s their decision not their parent’s on what to
eat. There have been threats of
lawsuits, so companies have made their products with whole wheat or less fat
and sugar. One of these lawsuits took
place in Massachusetts regarding Kellogg and Nickelodeon to stop marketing junk
food to children. There are 50 countries
that have banned advertisers to market children under the age of twelve. The author believes that all of society will
need to come together in order to rid the nation of childhood obesity.
In this article by Marion Nestle I found
it informative. I am a mother of a
special needs child. My son has high
functioning Autism, so he can be very picky about his food. He has a very limited diet. For example, his diet may consist of mac and
cheese, mashed potato, chicken nuggets, apple sauce, popcorn and
hamburger. These food items at times can
be tweaked to provide the nutrients that he needs. I will also at times give him a multi
vitamin. He has been steadily getting
better, so this article I felt that it was hard to swallow. I get it my son needs to get out
and play more, but this is a different world than when I grew up. As I have said before about diet I also do my
best to get my children active. When I
read that Congress involved the Center of Disease Control which brought the Institute
of Medicine into existents I sighed and my eyes rolled. The last thing I need is the United States
government to tell me what to do as a parent.
This reminds me of the same attitude of the progressive left’s idea that
they know what I need to do as a parent.
It is because of the constant
idea that the government can fix all problems.
I do my best to
substitute his diet the best I can. If I should want help it will not be from the
Center of Disease Control or IOM. What
do they know about parenting?
This is a capitalistic country. We make money. It is what we as Americans do and has led to
one of the best economies in the world.
Those who feel they know what is best do not think of the bigger
economic picture. For instance, the idea
of bringing a lawsuit against a big company may trickle down throughout the
company in a negative conclusion. These
big companies, even though they may be wrong can be taken down with a numerous
amounts of lawsuits. This will cause unemployment
for the executives and more importantly for those working under them. The economy depends on these larger companies
to provide a service to Americans. It is
also Americans responsibility to make the best possible decision for themselves
and family. We as a country became an
independent from a government that wanted nothing more than to control us. Why do we want the government to control what
we see, eat and feed our families?
Marion Nestle also makes her opinion
to conclude the piece. It’s my
understanding that all of society is responsible to help with the issue of
childhood obesity. It may very well be
helpful to have some help from all of society.
This makes me wonder if I want all of this help. Where does the help come from? The so-called help comes from the
government. The government has never
been a single parent. For instance, I
was that single parent and it was often cheaper to pick fast food, so that I
may spend more time with my children. I
chose fast food sometimes because I wanted to come home and have a quick after
dinner pick up then spend time with my family.
It was a life with convenience.
We live in a country of convenience, so it’s not only children who
suffer with obesity. It is also their
adult parents. We as parents have enough
of an intrusion into our lives as parents from schools and neighbors that we do
not need one more thing to pressure us into not really parenting.
In conclusion, the article alarmed me with
the knowledge that Congress can go to the Center of Disease Control and IOM in
order to find solutions to childhood obesity.
There could and has been lawsuits directed towards companies that just
want to make money. The question
remands, why does our economy need to suffer because of more government
control? Our responsibility as parents is
to raise children who make the best choices. This is our job as a parent and if we fail
then we shall see the result. I
frequently have to ignore the critics and raise my children the best that I
know how.

Where is the Logic?
http://youngcons.com/a-witness-was-unknowingly-recorded-at-ferguson-shooting-scene-changes-everything/
This is a video of Michael Brown laying in the street after he was shot several times by Darren Wilson. The point of interest is around 6:28 where you can hear a witness describe the events that collaborate the officer's story.
I have never experienced tragedy to this magnitude before in my life. Are we as a society so truly backwards that we react before know all the facts? I believe that we were once a great nation of logical thinking people but something has happened to us when emotion takes hold. This is the second case where race of an individual has been brought to the forefront. Where do we look for guidance? I remember a time when all Americans could look towards the President and knew that no matter the party affiliation there was a trust that the people held. Yes, we are a republic and we should always look towards ourselves first. There were times as I grew up that we did look within, but also knew that the President spoke for all of us. As a people we voted for our leader, although we may or may not have liked the out come we came together. For example, the 2000, election George W. Bush became President under scandal, but when 9/11 showed the nation that we were vulnerable he stepped up to the plate and showed us that we will not be cowards. Where is the President now? The people of Ferguson, Missouri need a good word, a pat on the back or the President to show that he is up for the good fight. A friend of mine reminded me that people are murdered everyday. Why is this so special? It could be because the emotion and tension of the town were already so high. I just wonder if this isn't a distraction for something bigger. What are we missing as a nation? Have we lost God?
We are a nation built on the basic freedoms that we all share. The first of which we probably hold most dear Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech. This is where our country began and we are loosing. We are loosing because we as a people put our emotion before all else. It is time to put our faith first. Of course, we all worship differently but the faith and hope that this land is different from all others is the common ground for all of Americans. We are Americans! We are the hope that this nation will one day be great again. We as a people can come together as one to be Free.

No Justice;No Peace
There has been a lot going on in the United States this past week. It has been especially noted in Ferguson, Missouri with the shooting and death of Michael Brown. The summery of events starts on August 9, when a officer stopped Brown in order for him not to walk in the middle of the street. The reports that I have read and heard were that Michael Brown assaulted the officer reaching for the officer's gun. The officer, who has been identified as Darrin Wilson, shot Michael Brown several times that led to Brown's death. The fact that Brown was 18, and now dead is tragic enough but what has followed is the exact opposite of what Martin Luther King taught. Martin Luther King Jr. preached non violence during a time when it would have been perfectly logical for tempers to flare.
There are three elements that has not helped to stop the violence in Ferguson, Missouri. The police looked as if the military were marching down the street all because of a few who wanted to take advantage of a tragic situation. It's one of many elements that has not helped. Then there are persons like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson who make money off of others suffering and create a atmosphere of racial tension. Sharpton and Jackson fly into a situation make a speech then go home to their million dollar homes. While they claim to be their to help and to preach peace their base gets more violent. The third element that has helped to continue the violence in Ferguson is the Black Panthers. In my memory off the top of my head this group took a militant stance during the civil rights movement. It's been their mantra to intimidate whether it's during the civil rights movement, 2012 election reports of Panthers standing in front of the voting locations and the Ferguson protest chant. "Who do we want? Darren Wilson. How do we want him? DEAD." How is this helpful?
The black community wants the same equal opportunity as their white brothers and sisters. I have grown up and raising a family in the wonderful state of Indiana. I have never seen the division that is happening now. It is my belief that it's been the election of Barack Obama that was suppose to create more of united nation but instead there have been more division. While President Obama is on vacation the town of Ferguson is on fire. He made a statement about how sad it was but he never said to stop. The President needs to take a stand and just say "STOP IT". Instead of being President on the week that Ferguson is turning into hell. He can cancel his vacation and lead. He chooses not to because according to those in his own party he is tired of being President. How can Ferguson, Missouri begin to heal? I look towards the man that died for what he believed. He lived the life of non violence. I am talking of Martin Luther King Jr. His lack of action speaks louder and accomplished more. The black community came out of segregation in both public life and school life and voting rights were defended. This done by the act of non violence which Martin Luther King Jr. spoke passionately about. I have linked a You Tube video in order to remind those who have lost hope. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74XJJ3Tq5ew

Freedom of Religion
This summer I was taking History I at Ivy Tech College in Indianapolis. I was faced with the realization that the professor who also has a law degree has a more liberal view of the constitution. I had to do what I had to do in order to make the grade in the class. Did this view point take into account why we are blessed to live in a country where Religion is free. It is our first Amendment in our Constitution and the reason the puritans came to settle in the new world. The question I have for the reader, Is this being selectively taken away? Why do atheist care so much?
The question of whether or not Freedom of Religion is being selectively removed. I was watching Fox News. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/08/11/navy-removes-bibles-from-guest-rooms/
They were reporting that Atheist were complaining about the Bibles being in Naval Lodges. We all know that when we go to a hotel that a Gideon Bible will be in the drawer of the night stand. What's the problem? If you do not worship the Christian God then don't open the Bible. One doesn't have to read the good book. I personally do like reading the Bible and other spiritual writings. If there is a concern for Freedom of Religion then go on a campaign to have other spiritual books in the hotel room. The Bible in the night stand isn't going to hurt or hinder religious freedom. It's not going to take away the Atheist belief that there isn't a God. Do they think that the Bible is going to physically reach out grab an Atheist and say, "READ ME!!" Are they afraid that they might actually get some spiritual truth? It is my belief that Religion of any kind is being taken out of American Culture. It will soon be taboo and politically incorrect to practice any religion out in the open. All in the name of that it might offend someone. The first Amendment of the Constitution of the United States reads as follows: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof: or abridging the freedom of speech, or the press: or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." We as a people can practice of religion or not practice at all. We have to remember that the United States military do what we will not do fighting and dying to protect what we have built.
Why do Atheist care? I get it they want to be as valid as the rest of us. Yes, all people and beliefs should be seen a valid.

Atheist believe that there isn't a higher power, but if one also takes in account one being an Agnostic they don't know if there is a God. Where is their outrage? It is not to take away the right of others. They are living in a country that has churches, crosses and synagogues. Think of the rest of the world. Iraq is under siege of Isis who are killing Christians. The Christians or true Muslims can't speak out without being killed. The children are being killed just for being the Children of Christians. Saudi Arabia where a woman can't drive a car. In Gaza the terrorist group Hamas are using children as a human shield, so they can point and say look what Israel has done. Why are the Atheist complaining about? We are living in a country that doesn't shoot or behead you for your religious beliefs. Maybe just maybe it's time for a new philosophy when speaking on Religious Freedom. GET OVER IT!!! People believe and that's ok.

Ann Coulter's Rambling
I first heard about Ann Coulter's opinion on Dr. Kent Brantly and Africa from Dana Loesch on her Friday night program on The Blaze. It had sealed the deal for me on why I believe that Ann Coulter has been bad for the conservatives in this country and I needed to check the article out for myself. I know she is and countless like her are nothing but opinion. The smart intelligent women of the right will listen to her simply because she is a woman. Here is her website so that you can form your own opinion, http://www.anncoulter.com/
I grew up in the church, but religion was liberally taught in my home. The basic point was follow the Ten Commandments, love others, obey the parental units and be tolerant of those who pray and worship differently from me. It was really basic simple God loves everyone. I was allowed to explore with the guidance of my family. I have seen nothing wrong with this family plan and hope that this is what I am passing to my children. The moment I hear Ann Coulter speak it makes me cringe. I believe she takes her idea of Christianity to a whole new level with the article that she posted on her website. She basically raises the question of why did Dr. Kent Brantly have to go to Africa and why couldn't he minister through Christ here in America. Ms. Coulter I am here to answer for you it's because he was called to Africa and it's where his heart most likely felt at home. I don't know the man personally, but know that when my heart isn't where it should be then life just isn't where it should be for me.
I personally would not go if I was leaving a family behind. This guy risked his life for those in Africa that did not share his same religious views. I know that we as an American society live or worship differently than one another. The families in African countries and other places around the world do not share the same exceptionalism that we in the States have enjoyed. I would imagine that Dr. Kent Brantly wanted to share this American idea through his love for Christ. Dr. Kent Brantly was called and didn't waist time and worry. He could have accepted the medicine but declined in favor of the nurse that was working with him. This is the example that we all should set and especially those of us who are American Citizens. I ask this question, Why is it a bad thing to not only to serve here in the United States but take this exceptionalism and spread it around the world? Let's show the world the best of us as the missionaries in Africa risked their lives to do the same. It is my hope that Ms. Coulter remembers as to why she is a Christian. Christ sent the twelve to show freedom through God. This is all Dr. Kent Brantly was doing and it is a job well done.
